A Day in the Life of UF

We’ve had a visitor in recently. Elena, pictured above on the right, is being taken through one of our projects by T, our senior designer. She came in to spend the day with us. This was part of an initiative we’ve begun (A Day in the Life of UF), offering students the chance to come in and spend the day at our studio to get an insight on what awaits them on the other side…

We asked her to write about her experience and here is what Elena had to say:

My insight at Universal Favourite

I arrived at 8am, not quite sure what to expect from my day at the very bright and welcoming Universal Favourite studio. I was about to spend a whole day shadowing Ana, Dari, Teresa, Ash and the newest member of the little family, Yula.

They threw me right into the deep end, kicking-off with the ‘WIP’ and the ‘weekly CRAP (Create And Report A Procedure)’ meeting. Apparently this is the crucial meeting where everyone shares their weekend stories about food, films and fancy stuff… No seriously, the meetings showed me the great internal structure of Universal Favourite, where everyone gets to know the progress/updates on everything that is going on – which is a lot, believe me!

I got a great insight into different jobs, observed the flow of work and got to know the Universal Favourite family a little better.

When I left that afternoon at 6pm, I was full of new impressions and I really learned a great deal in that one day. One of the most important things I took away with me, is that I want to work in a job where the people enjoy what they do and are as passionate about their work, as at Universal Favourite!
