Joining forces in the name of good times
Even in your home town, there’s always something new to discover. Cahoots makes it easy to do just that. A location-based lifestyle app, it serves up something fresh for you to experience, right when you need it. It’s like opening the door to a secret world you never knew existed.
Cahoots was set to launch in Sydney, all they needed was a visual style that not only appealed to the target market of 20-30 year olds, but inspired them to go out and discover more of their city. From the latest bars, cafes, and shops, to creative workshops, events and festivals, it’s all just a tap of the finger away.
We brought a sense of discovery to life through the idea of stylish curation. Like the pages of your favourite blog or city guide, we wanted to give a strong sense of editorial variety, backed up with standout imagery to stoke a little FOMO and entice people out of their homes.
Noe was our choice of hero font. Its big, chunky letters and sharp serifs a call-out to classic newspaper mastheads, giving the brand an authoritative, yet offbeat voice. Body copy plays it softer, with a lighter sans spilling the beans, like a friend sharing a secret. The mix of authority and fun also informed the colour palette, with black and white holding the stage for a blitz of zesty colours, their duo-tones representing each category.
Keeping things brief and user friendly, the interface was streamlined. Explore with a few taps on the go, find out what’s nearby, or where you’re going, and save stuff to your personal collection. Favourites appear on a map, making them easy to find when you’re in the neighbourhood.
Basically, we’ve worked in cahoots with the founders to make the app as stylish and easy to get around as possible, like all great cities should be.
