Although I have never been to a German nightclub, I can safely assume it isn’t really my scene – what with the lights (and all that dancing). But, solace can be found in it’s aftermath – and that is something I can appreciate. Some overly eager students from Hamburg University took it upon themselves to start photographing deserted nightclubs after all the sweaty, squirming, tweaked patrons have wriggled back to their 5am hidey-holes. The images are what you would expect; with vomit, garbage and a good helping of miscellaneous littering the floor. What I find most interesting are the actual spaces. One looks like something from 2001: A Space Odyssey, another looks like an underground lair from a Bond film (guess which is which), while the rest are a mixed bag of sticky floors, flat walls and geometric-roof-sculptures.
